I’m Mummy to identical twins Bella & Elle. I run the Instagram page @allwhitehouse – appropriately named because I live in a house which is literally ALL WHITE. With Twin toddlers, you can probably imagine keeping my white house white is an interesting experience! My page gained the attention of national newspapers and I’m very grateful to have a loyal following of fellow parents. I adore sharing my money & time saving hacks – helping families across the country! Rug Doctor is my secret weapon, and today I’m going to tell you everything there is to know, keep reading…
When you look around your whole house; an entire ‘Spring Clean’ can feel a bit daunting can’t it? Especially if you’re trying to squeeze it around looking after little ones! This is how I like to tackle it:
Put some music on – odd school club classics, dramatic show tunes – whatever floats your boat
Boil the kettle and have a little snack at the ready – no one likes to clean when they’re ‘hangry!’
Break it down – one job at a time. I like to focus on one aspect, such as ‘carpets’ at once. It doesn’t all have to happen in one afternoon!
Backwards ‘To Do’ List –always write it down AFTERWARDS! This might sound topsy turvy, but instead of an overwhelming ‘to do list’ I like to write down all the things I HAVE achieved. Honestly, try it – it’s so uplifting to realise all that you HAVE done. I’m sure lots of you can relate that there’s days you feel like you haven’t got everything done on your list, yet you’ve been so busy. So, when I started writing everything down that I had done, I really couldn’t believe it & it brings a smile to my face every time.
Carpets are a surface we touch daily, but do not wipe down and clean. They collect and trap all sorts of dirt and bacteria… and the occasional toddler poop incident (yes… potty training Twins is fun!). Carpets retain unwanted odours, think about it – how do your carpets smell? Vacuuming doesn’t clean the carpet fibres; it only lifts items off. This is where Rug Doctor is such a game changer, because by deep cleaning the carpets throughout your house you get a wonderfully pleasant clean & fresh feeling throughout.
I regularly use the Rug Doctor ‘Deep Carpet Cleaner’ to keep my white carpets white. One of my favourite features is its ability to ‘get into action’ quickly. It also folds up pretty small, so we keep it next to our vacuum in our hallway cupboard. You flip up the handle, pop in some warm water and cleaning solution, plug it in and off you go! My other favourite feature is its flexibility, it even comes with a detachable hose which is perfect forgetting into smaller areas – such as stairs/sofas/mattresses/car seats. This one machine can be used in all areas of your home. You’ll be absolutely amazed at the filthy colour of the extracted water once you have used it!
Clean, don’t replace – without the Rug Doctor Deep Carpet Cleaner, we would have had no choice but to either pay for pricey professional deep cleaning, or even to replace our carpets, our sofa, our Twins’ mattresses & car seats, costing us thousands. Each one has had such a lot of poop or other things on that it that it wouldn’t have been possible to simply wipe away! I find myself using my Rug Doctor most weeks and couldn’t be without it, it’s really become just as useful as my vacuum cleaner!
Hire or buy – Rug Doctor offer so many different options to suit you. You can buy online or hire at over3,300 outlets in the UK and Ireland. In fact, 90% of UK households are within a10 minute drive to their nearest provider.
Wipes - always have some Rug Doctor ‘Spot and Stain Remover Wipes’ handy. They’re great for car fabrics, spilt cups of coffee on the sofa & so many other daily mishaps. After a quick wipe half of the stain is removed in seconds, and after fully wiping the entire thing is gone. One pack is only a couple of quid, so they’re super affordable& convenient.
Invest in a few good carpet sprays for your cleaning cupboard – Rug Doctor has over 14 different ones. Do you frequently find you have red wine stains, or perhaps even pet urine is a problem? Select the sprays most suited to your home and keep them handy to use when needed. The sooner you tackle a stain, the easier it is to remove before it sets!
I’m so excited to be taking part in the Clean and Tidy Home Show where you’ll find me at the Rug Doctor stand. Looking forward to meeting lots of you soon! Xx
