Sasha's Shine Squad Story

Sasha from @homewithsashax and the Clean & Tidy Home Show Shine Squad

Tell us a bit about yourself

I started my account just after my 30th birthday. I felt I’d lost that love I once had for cleaning and my home. I started on Instagram and I love the community I have been luckily enough to get to know. Cleaning your home and organising shouldn’t have to feel like a big chore.

How did you learn to keep a home?

My mom has always been a tidy person with a well organised home so I did follow suit. However, being a single mom to two little ones it’s not as easy to keep my home tidy. I try my best but remember that I can’t do it all in one day.

What is your favourite homemaking activity?

I enjoy cleaning and organising as well as making hearty meals at home and involving the kids as much as I can.

What homemaking product could you not live without?

Oh I’d have to say I’d be lost without Sonic Scrubber. It has so many multiple uses. I just love it!

Do you ever feel overwhelmed?

I do quite often. My children are small. I can tidy one room and they can come in like a whirlwind and the room is upside down again. I try and make lists of jobs I need to do and then prioritise what’s more important to do first.

Why is #shinenotshame important to you?

I would say because I don’t have an Instagram home. I have a real home that has mess and clutter and things out of place. It’s important to help each other accept help when needed and remember that we are all in the same boat. Getting a job done is another thing ticked off, it doesn’t matter how long it took you to get there the fact is you got there to do it.

What is an interesting fact about you?

I didn’t really have social media before I made my account. Now I’ve met some amazing friends I’ll have for life.
